Die Federal Reserve hat diese Woche die Zinsen um 25 Basispunkte gesenkt und dabei die Schwäche am Arbeitsmarkt angeführt. Auch der britische Arbeitsmarkt zeigt Anzeichen einer Verschlechterung. Seit August 2022 steigt die Arbeitslosenquote von einem Tiefststand von 3,6 % auf aktuell 4,8 %. Dem aktuellen Trend zufolge wird die Arbeitslosenquote im Vereinigten Königreich bald die Warnlinie von 5 % überschreiten. Obwohl der Druck auf den britischen Arbeitsmarkt geringer ist als in den Vereinigten Staaten, sind die Aussichten nicht optimistisch und die Bank of England könnte die Zinsen erneut senken.

Seit Juli 2024 hat die Bank of England die Zinssätze fünfmal gesenkt, mit einer kumulierten Spanne von 125 Basispunkten. Zinssenkungen haben eine starke Regelmäßigkeit: Sie senkten die Zinssätze jedes zweite Mal, dieses Mal beschlossen sie, die Zinssätze zu senken, und das nächste Mal beschlossen sie, nichts zu tun. Durch den Zinsentscheid der Bank of England im September wurden Zinssenkungen einmal ausgesetzt. Nach den oben genannten Regeln ist es sehr wahrscheinlich, dass die Zinsen im November erneut gesenkt werden. Der Gouverneur der Bank of England, Carney, sagte in seiner Rede im September: „Die Zinssätze müssen noch weiter gesenkt werden ... aber wann und wie stark sie gesenkt werden, hängt von der Entwicklung der Inflation ab.“ Ausschlaggebend für die Zinsanpassung ist demnach nicht der Arbeitsmarkt, sondern die Entwicklung der Inflation.

Inflation gab es schon immerDie Daten, die Zentralbanken verschiedener Länder am meisten schätzen. Die jährliche Kern-VPI-Rate im Vereinigten Königreich lag im September bei 3,5 % und damit über den 3 % in den USA im gleichen Zeitraum. Die Zentralbanken verschiedener Länder betrachten 2 % als Standard für eine moderate Inflation, und die britische Inflationsrate liegt offensichtlich viel höher als dieser Standard. Im dritten Quartal zeigte die britische Inflationsrate Anzeichen eines kontinuierlichen Rückgangs, es ist jedoch ungewiss, ob sich dieser Trend fortsetzen kann. Beispielsweise sanken die Inflationsdaten von Januar bis März dieses Jahres ebenfalls drei Jahre in Folge, doch im April stiegen die Daten plötzlich auf 3,8 %.
Auch externe Risiken dürfen nicht ignoriert werden. Obwohl die Auswirkungen der US-amerikanischen Hochzollpolitik auf die britische und die Weltwirtschaft verkraftet wurden, könnte Trump, der der „America First“-Doktrin folgt, jederzeit eine neue Runde der Barrierepolitik einleiten. Da sich die Ukraine-Frage noch lange hinzieht, sind sowohl das Vereinigte Königreich als auch die EU einem starken Hilfsdruck ausgesetzt, der die makroökonomische Erholung des Vereinigten Königreichs weiterhin bremsen wird.

Aus technischer Sicht befindet sich GBPUSD auf Tagesebene in der Callback-Phase, nachdem es einen Höchststand erreicht hat. Die beiden dunklen Kreise im Bild stellen die Double-Top-Struktur dar. Die Entstehungszeitpunkte der vorderen und hinteren Hochpunkte waren Juli bzw. September, die Werte liegen bei 1,3787 bzw. 1,3725 Punkten. Der Zeitunterschied ist erheblich und die Werte liegen nahe beieinander. Die Double-Top-Struktur ist relativ stabil.
